Zalinca™ designs moulded products to keep electrical and communications cables, that are routed down a pole structure, safe and protected. They are simple, effective and safe. No forms, no return trips, no wasted time. But Zalinca™ isn't just limited to that. Zalinca™ can help you solve your unique problem. We have years of construction and engineering design experience with the latest design software and we know how to listen. Protect gas lines, hydro stacks and a host of other structures, yet still keep those assets accessible without needing a jack hammer.
Using new crumb rubber, we can help you protect your product or whatever project you need. We make products that are environmentally responsible, strong, stackable, easy to install, easy to replace, easy to re-use. They are clean and neat and maintain their appearance at a fraction of the cost of concrete.
Loren has many experiences under his belt that include farming, military service, the adolescence and growth of Cable TV and large area HFC networks, microwave and fibre optics, hi-tech voice and data communications and video telecollaboration. He has also travelled around the world a half dozen times learning, teaching, managing and building. He was now looking for something a little bit quieter.
He watched out his office window and witnessed the installation of a concrete pilaster at the base of a new hydro pole. The task took over a month to complete and the end result was an expensive eye-sore. 40 years in the network infrastructure and communications technologies fields made him notice something: concrete just wasn't cutting it for protecting pole infrastructures. The Father of 2 and Poppa of 3, knew he could help. Zalinca™ was born.
The DIP PRO is a patented design made of new crumb rubber. The rubber used is the buffed material left from the process of newly retreading truck tires. The leftover new crumb rubber is then molded into a DIP PRO which makes it hard and strong yet subtly flexible and better for the environment. It does not cause greenhouse gas emissions like cement, which is a pound for pound CO2 emissions contributor. Additionally, it does not end up in a landfill. The DIP PRO is clean and neat, maintains its appearance and is much less likely to damage cables if impacted. Easy to safely install, remove or replace if required, even by 1 person, it is also easily upgradable if the dip changes or additions are installed.
The DIP PRO can be installed with hardware that most utility companies already have in their truck (see photo gallery). The use of D-rings will allow you to use stainless steel bands that again, are part of existing hardware warehoused by most utility companies.
Recycled, yet new, the DIP PRO has a long-life expectancy protecting valuable assets.
Crumb rubber is available around the world and is becoming more and more available as new uses are discovered. Zalinca™ selects some of the best new rubber from the truck tire retreading process, and using a proprietary bonding agent, heat and very high pressure, moulds the DIP PRO into a single new product made of 98+% new repurposed material.
To install a DIP PRO simply dig around the wires to be protected and place the DIP PRO over the cables. The name plate indentation is at the top and you can place it in the ground, so that "final grade" is approximately at the grade line on the front of the unit. It can be secured by lag bolts and washers of your choice or with stainless steel bands on a non wooden pole. You can use "off the shelf" D-rings or purchase an install kit from your DIP PRO distributor. We recommend placing 1 lag bolt loosely, adjusting the DIP PRO for desired position and ensuring neat appearance, then place the remaining lag bolts.
Note: Tighten the bolts until they are secure. Do not over tighten or crush the rubber. If using straps, do not overtighten so the DIP PRO is distorted or pulled out of normal shape.
If more height or depth is required, a DIP PRO can be easily stacked. You have the option of adding any type of basic outdoor caulking, silicone (RTV) or rubber cement between the units. The center grove on the bottom will fit easily over the tab on the top of the lower unit increasing the upper unit's ability to remain in place if hit from the side.

IN SUMMARY
The advantages to using a DIP PRO are simple!
Need to leave an encrypted note for the next tech? Or leave a pole description such as date of install?
The options are endless with available ID tags.

No special training is required for any qualified structure technician. There are installation descriptions and best practices on our website (see picture). The DIP PRO has a grade indicator to help get the height proper and can be attached to a wooden pole with any standard lag bolts and washers found in most Utility vehicles.
Off the shelf stainless steel bands will hold a DIP PRO on concrete or fibreglass poles with ease. The DIP PRO’s are designed to allow you to stack them to increase the protected area and almost any off the shelf exterior caulking will act as a bonding agent. (see picture in gallery)
Under normal circumstances, a DIP PRO should easily out-last the pole it is attached to.
Depending on the severity of the impact, the DIP PRO may only need a quick visual inspection before it can be reused. After all, the DIP PRO is designed to withstand bumps and bangs and protect the cables beneath it. Lawn mowers, sidewalk snowplows etc. should not cause any serious issues. Tractor trailers may be a different story.
However, if replacement is required, it can be done quickly and easily without any delays, forms, concrete or mess.
Because of its inherent flexibility, a DIP PRO is far less likely to break apart and become a projectile upon severe impact the way concrete can. This lessens the possibility of secondary damage or injury to bystanders. See our picture gallery.
The DIP PRO has a lifetime warranty against manufacturers defects.
